Personal Income Tax

Tennessee has no state income tax on wages! A four to six percent tax applies to some kinds of dividend and interest income.

Sales Tax

Local sales tax on goods and services sold is 8.25%, including a 6% state sales tax and a 2.25% Davidson County sales tax. The rate outside Davidson County may vary slightly.

Property Tax

Residential property tax is assessed at 25% of its actual value in Tennessee. Industrial and Commercial Real Estate is taxed at 40%, and Commercial and Industrial Personal Property in taxed at 30%.
